Hiatus (Hopefully) Only Temporary

"The Pigs" is suffering from a large dose of writer's block at the moment. I suppose I could take a leaf out of Mr Lefty's book and post pictures of my cat, but we don't have a cat. The goldfish just wouldn't be the same.

At times like this I feel like tossing it all in, but I know that's easier said than done. Just look at the Flute. It's very difficult to give it away.

Blogging would be easier if the country was showing some clear political direction. We seem to be in the doldrums, waiting for the political winds to freshen and provide direction. I'm too jaded to hope that we're on the verge of a change, but the signs are there. Work Choices is starting to bite, the back-flip on selling the Snowy Hydro, rising fuel prices and interest rates, world victory tours by the PM.

Most promising is a shift in the attitude of the working punters who've voted who previously voted for the conservatives. However, Beasley is an impediment. It should be remembered, though, that Howard was a political liability for most of his career, a factor that was ignored by the voters when confronted by an unpopular government.

Will be back when the lethargy recedes.
