Upping The Medication

The only thing I know is that I know nothing.

Someone said that. Probably a Greek. Someone also said something along the lines of the more we learn, the more we realise how much we do not know. Whatever the case is, as some of you may know, I don't have regular internet access, and have been previously limiting myself to about 15 minutes a day. I've recently, after consultation with my doctors, upped that to about 30. What's the point of this? Ah... oh, yes, if there are readers who are writing please let me know where I can find what you've written in order that I may read it.

Like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives.

Gotta love the Greeks.

Well I have just one thing that might interest you mark if you haven't caught it already. I wote a letter to our local MP just before the election and sent it to Margo Kingston. She published it in her September webdiary and the response was amazing. And 50 plus emails came direct to me.

What is even more amazing to me is that the letter is obviously still being sent around the traps because there has been a flurry of responses just this week including a letter from Julian Burnside.

My 16 mins of fame!

Sue, I dont know who Julian Burnside is, but that's an absolutely fantastic letter. It's a perfect summation of so many of the problems with John Howard as the Australian Prime Minister. I'm guessing people read it, and they think - oh yeah, I remember that, did that happen too, oh, that'd slipped my mind, was that him too, strewth - and when you put them all together the way you have, you have an amazing case for getting rid of him that so many people must find hard to turn their eyes from. BTW, I'd probably have voted for Costello too, (sorry tony, Latham was a twit) just like I'd vote for Gordon Brown. Western politics is quickly sliding from parties to personalities.

Thanks Mark

Julian Burnside is an 'eminent QC' from Melbourne - well someone I've heard of in news contexts (can't remember when and why) but also someone who is light years away from my environment so the fact he took the trouble to write a personal letter is very gratifying.

Can you tell me more about Gordon Brown - the Spectator is never very complimentary....
